One day that can be incredibly stressful is your moving day. With so many things that need to come together in a short window of time, you may be looking for some tips that will help you feel less stressed on this busy day.

Be Packed In Advanced

If you want to reduce your stress, then you definitely should not be packing things up on the day of your move. Try to have everything in boxes the day before the movers arrive so that all you need to do on the day of the move is let the movers do the heavy lifting. You may have some essentials that need to be put away, but it is going to be a very small amount of items that need to be boxed up.

Having your belongings packed up in advance will not only help reduce your anxiety about everything being ready in time, but it will also ease anxiety about the cost of the move. That's because residential movers tend to charge by the hour, and a longer move is going to lead to a bigger bill.

Have Boxes In A Staging Area

If the cost of the move is stressing you out, then you can do some preparation to help make moving the boxes out of your home a bit easier. Consider placing all those boxes in a convenient place where the movers can get them, such as your garage or living room. Since boxes are one of the first things that are loaded onto the truck, you'll want them ready to go when the movers arrive.

Hire A Large Moving Crew

If you have a tight window of time where you need to access a service elevator or to be out of your current place, then it is worth hiring a larger crew of movers to get the job done more quickly. Make sure you have at least four people in your moving crew so that stuff can always be moving in and out of the truck. If you hire just two people, fatigue may set in halfway through the moves when four movers would be finished.

Buy Moving Insurance

Are you stressing out about things being broken during the move? It will be worth it to purchase moving insurance from your moving company. This will give you peace of mind that you will get everything to your new home in great condition one way or another. If something does break during the move, you can simply use insurance to replace it.
